Commanding Officer Desigs Course Visits the Charity and Club

Commanding Officer Designates Visit China Fleet Trust

This week, the China Fleet Trust was honoured to welcome the latest cohort of Commanding Officer Designates (CO Desigs) as part of their leadership development programme. These future leaders are preparing to take command of some of the Royal Navy’s most significant platforms, including HM Submarines, Type 23 frigates, and Batch 2 Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).

The visit provided an opportunity for the CO Desigs to learn more about the China Fleet Trust’s charitable mission and the unique role the China Fleet Country Club plays in supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The CEO shared insights into the Trust’s history, its enduring commitment to welfare, and the importance of maintaining a space for rest, recovery, and family connection.

During the session, the group saw first-hand accounts from beneficiaries who have experienced the Club’s facilities and services. These stories reinforced why the Trust exists – to provide tangible support that enhances quality of life for those who serve and their loved ones.

As these officers prepare to assume command, their engagement with the Trust underscores the strong bond between the Royal Navy and the China Fleet Trust. We look forward to continuing this partnership and ensuring that the Club remains a cornerstone of welfare for generations to come.
