The China Fleet Trust was honoured to support personnel from 1710 Naval Air Squadron (1710 NAS) as they participated in commemorative D-Day activities, marking one of the most significant moments in modern military history.
The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of those who served during the Normandy landings, while reinforcing the strong connection between today’s serving personnel and the generations who went before them. The participation of 1710 NAS highlighted the Royal Navy’s continued commitment to remembrance, heritage, and service.
Through its support, the Trust enabled a meaningful and memorable evening aboard HMS Warrior, bringing people together to commemorate this historic occasion. As Petty Officer (AET) Danielle Burns reflected:
“We are incredibly grateful to the China Fleet Trust for their generous grant of £500 towards our D-Day event held aboard HMS Warrior. Their support made a meaningful difference and helped ensure the evening was a success. The funding enabled us to bring people together to commemorate and celebrate in a truly memorable way, and we sincerely appreciate their contribution in making the event possible.”
This initiative reflects the Trust’s broader mission; to support serving personnel, veterans, and their families, while celebrating the enduring spirit and contribution of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines community.
